Carefully watching after Ruzimatov, a doctor and Bakhtin’s manager Vladimir Hryunov immediately ran to the rapidly fainting Uzbek to take the tongue out of his mouth and saved him from asphyxia. That, however, hasn’t prevented the brave fighter from losing his consciousness.

Emergency care was right here to place Ruzimatov on stretcher and to transport him to the local hospital by ambulance vehicle. It has later got known that the Uzbek pugilist had become the subject of cranial trepanation to remove blood clots from his brain."

There are too many mismatches on some Russian boxing cards, and the "opponents" are paid poorly and risking their lives.

Look at the records of the opponents today:

While I didn't see it or know exactly what happened, I will say this; I'm willing to bet this was an instance in which the referee failed to recognize when that fighter was over his head. It always boils down to either a commision giving the green light to a fighter than shouldn't be fighting (due to health reasons) or a ref not stopping a fight and letting a fighter take unnecessary punishment.

      from fight news:

Positive news is coming from the team of fallen 21-year old Uzbek warrior Nosirjon Ruzimatov, who has collapsed during the break between the ninth and the tenth round of his fight against highly regarded Russian bantamweight Alexander Bakhtin this past Friday.

Ruzimatov, though still being in very serious condition, is now conscious and shows some positive dynamics. The Uzbek pugilist is being fully surrounded and supported by his relatives and representatives. It’s too early to speak about the full recovery of the fighter, hence Team Ruzimatov kindly asks everybody to keep praying for the health of the brave warrior.
