this is what i dont understand, there is no evidence, no bloody guazes, no hgh raids, no grand jury testimony, no balco or steroid connection to pacquiao yet a ex convict former crack ******* dealer accuses someone & they ask for a test that has never been asked in professional boxing is now branded a cheater.

    smh.
He isn't branded as a cheater until proven guilty (except by Mayweather sr.). Whats hurting Pacman here is that people are starting to believe he is hiding something. Refusing to take the official test as dictated by the US Ant-doping agency, just looks plain bad.

It doesn't matter what athlete is being talked about; when you refuse a drug test, it looks su****ious.

they reportedly previously worked together on stuff, but i'm more concerned on actually following the letter of law.

the usada has no mandate on pro boxing. it does not have any mandate on nfl, the nba, or the mlb either.

*****s should ask their congressmen, therefore to create a law creating a federal agency that will have the authority to conduct random tests all year round not just on pro boxers, but all pro athletes in america - basketball, baseball, football players included.

          let's level the playing field.

should they be required? someone should pass a law first abolishing the mandate of state athletic commissions to test for doping and establish a federal agency to handle the issue.

make it a blanket test for ALL pro boxers to undertake random tests all year round and stop singling out pacquiao by trying to punish him for his success.
There is a law that prohibits the use of performance enhancers. It's illegal regardless of testing for it or not.

You can say that there shouldn''t be any testing at all and that will be your opinion. I just happen to disagree.

the law says state athletic commissions, which issue licences, are the bodies mandated to stage doping tests.

pacquiao has complied with the law in all of his fights. asking for more just to please the caprice of a convicted felon that is mayweather senior is way off-base.

in any case, let's wait for pacquiao's lawsuit and see how it rolls out.

                • Im all for stricter testing but the situation of the fight also has to be taken into consideration. Im trying to see it from pacs point of view. If pac does have the idea that taking blood right before a fight has led to a bad performance in the past it can be a powerfull hurdle to overcome. Im not suprised were not hearing from him immediately. Personally i think he will agree to random testing but may draw the line at blood testing within a certain timeframe (24 hrs??) before the fight. The question is does this 24 hr peroid give you adequate time to injest something to improve performance in the fight. I was under the impression a lot of these things were used to boost training peformance but obviously im not sure if there is something you can take a day before a fight, and have it not detectably in urine or a blood test right after the fight. Or will we just have opinions on whether this is possible or not.

There is also the idea that floyds team are completely calling the shots on this one. Floyd or his team do not make the rules up regarding drug testing and trying to inforce the most stringent tests possible on someone else may cause irritation. If pac is clean im sure he will want to accomadate floyds demands and i hope he does. But the issue of blood tests right before the fight is a genuine issue and im sure it would be for a lot of people. Lets give pac time to work it out and see what he says himself. He may after all agree to all demands in the next week, you just never know with these things. Fights are on then off, then on again ...... etc several time and more

                  • "Traditional testing in boxing, it's basically worthless other than the detection of some types of stimulant, before and after a fight."

                    -Conte

I still think despite all this mess, the fight will happen. Manny just wants everything to be agreed to "his terms".
