Manny vs Floyd.
Beyond the nitti gritty, it all comes down to pride.
Both are multimillionaires.
Both can retire and live happily ever after should he choose to do so.
Now imagine this scenario.
You are a multimillionaire and the man on the other side is too. He says he needs money and fights for money but behind all the facade is the fact that he regards his 'boxing O' as more important than any other O's especially when it comes to O's in his bank a/c.
Now when you are rich enough already then all you have is pride. Maybe you can earn $100 million from a fight but that just makes the O's in yr bank account longer but doesn't change anything in your life.
So if your pride is insulted when the opposition insinuates that you have been drug taking and that was the only reason you accomplished what you did then your pride is hurt.
Now if i didn't need the money and the opposition was blatantly trying to discredit me (not in prefight hype style but more deliberate) then i would just walk away since pride is more important than money.
He can earn money from other fighters...definately not as much as a single superfight pacfloyd could make but definately not small change either.
It's funny how floyd is doing this. Who needs who more? Floyd needs manny more because his record isn't as good as pacmans...according to most people (not counting the floyd lovers on this forum).
Also pacman had agreed to a stricter than normal drug testing format.
Now just because pacman DOESN'T agree to olympic style testing...does this mean in the grand scale of things that now we should regard all boxers (who were NOT subjected to olympic style testing).....from the past to present as being 'potential cheats-even worse guilty until proven innocent?' when it comes to their accomplishments?
Logically that's what it all comes down to.
Anyway that's my 2 cents.
Thanks for reading.
PS. i read on the forums somewhere that during i think the goldenboy vs manny fight, manny was actually tested 14 days before fight night. Unfortunately the guy then proceeded to try to argue that just because manny didn't mind being tested 14 days b4 the fight on a previous fight that must make him guilty. You can rub it the other way and say that he didn't mind doing it before so if he didn't mind being tested before something must have pissed him off....floyd and his accusations. There is only so much a man can take b4 he just shrugs off the floyd circus act.
