Comments Thread For: Marquez vs Hatton Looms With WBO's Latest Position

The latest ruling by the WBO may open the door for a possible fight between Ricky Hatton and Juan Manuel Marquez. The WBO's Paco Valcárcel issued a ruling that allows Marquez additional time to make his mandatory defense of the lightweight title against interim-champion Michael Katsidis. Marquez is viewed as a "super champion" by the sanctioning body; allowing the Mexican fighter the opportunity to take another fight. [Click Here To Read More]

Marquez is a LIGHTWEIGHT. Not a 140 pounder. He is only up at 140 for the $$$. He is fat as f**k at 142, so he wont be much difference at 140. Just shows the kidna **** Pacquiao must be on to go up to 147 from 135 in 18 months.

Both may be past their primes, but I still think this would be a great fight. Hatton constantly pressing forward bullying Marquez, Marquez striking back with pinpoint counter punches, both getting the hell beat out of them.

I hope it happens, not like the two have any better prospects.

Dammit, he needs to drop that belt to Katsidis already so that the latter can forge ahead with his 135 plans. We all know Marquez ain't defending **** against a non-money opponent below 140.

Diaz was tagging and backing Marquez up I bet Hatton could do that all night unless he gets hit cleanly constantly

Hatton will get countered all night. Hatton doesn't move his head enough and Marquez is an accurate puncher...especially on a guy like Hatton. Marquez KO Hatton in 7

no it doesnt, it shows that pac's body type and muscles are completely different than marquez, and if you want to use that style of thinking then why not call out p.will for going from 147 to 160 in what three fights i believe, certain people can gain weight very easily and others cant move up in weight and i refer you to the article about the question that isnt so easy it shows what pac weighed in on fight night and as he has been moving up in weight his unofficial weight has remained very constant, dont fall into the trap that pbf and his camp have set, pac aint on nothin he is just a beast and IMO PBF is just scared of losin that 0, i cant remember the last time i remember him takin a big risk in the ring except against DLH at 154
