It's not about needles--it's about Pacquiao's whole routine being disrupted and his genuine concern of weakening due to blood tests on the day of the fight. It's totally a psychological thing for him since his beat down by Morales in their first fight where he had to take a blood test on fight day.

Yes--call it weak-minded, poor excuse but Pacquiao doesn't want blood tests hours before the fight, and based on his quote--he's willing to take it the day before the fight.

Pacquiao: “Require natin lahat pati blood test... pero ‘wag naman doon sa day of the fight, manghihina ka naman noon,” he said

Translation: Everything is required --including blood tests but not on the day of the fight, you'll get weak from that.

Pacquiao:“Gumagawa lang siya ng paraan, strategy niya para magalit ako... para ma-distract ako sa concentration sa fight,” said the reigning pound-for-pound king.

Translation: He's just trying to find a way, a strategy to make me mad, to distract me from concentrating on the fight.

Pacquiao NEVER said he feared needles. I'm not making excuses just saying what pacquiao is stating.

EDIT: To repeat, Pacquiao does not want the blood test on the day of the fight. That's all. No other excuses made by his fans. He simply does not want the blood test on fight day. This has NOTHING to do with the movies, concerts, switching camps. That's irrelevant.

The only imporant thing is that he genuinely believes that it makes him weak if blood is drawn the day of the fight, something similar to what happened with Eric Morales I.

It's seems it's a psychological thing for him becuase physically his performance shouldn't be hindered by the blood test.
