Former WBC super flyweight champion Gerry Penalosa is once again a world champion although its in the fledgling World Boxing Foundation which replaced the World Boxing Federation last year. Penalosa won the vacant WBF crown with a smashing seventh round KO over undefeated Thai challenger ****saen Sithpraprom who had won his last two fights this year by knockouts and had a record of 14-0 with 7 knockouts while Penalosa toted a record of 47-5-2 with 32 KO’s. 1. Penalosa a superfly @ 115lbs will not starve himself to get down to 105lbs and fight WBO minimumweight champ Calderon.
2. Penalosa is targetting IBF bantam champ Rafa Marquez @ 118lbs.
3. If he can't get to Rafa, he wants WBO bantamweight champ Sor Vorapin whom he TKO'd 4 years ago.
4. Gerry may opt to fight WBC superfly champ Kawashima and try to get back that green belt he once wore.

He should target Rafael Marquez while he still can (and while Marquez hasn't moved up in weight). From his previous two fights though I see that he still has the power but needs to work on speed and movement.

Yeah that's a good target Bro. but realistically he cannot get a crack at Rafa just like that. Gerry has got to earn it so he needs to get a couple of wins against named fighters . . . and who can that be but the belt holders in the superfly.
