Oscar would need to beat a couple of the top p4p fighters. He would have to beat margarito judah tsyzu to be near the top of the list again

He would just have to work harder and train harder than he ever has at any point in his career. If he wants to get back to the level he was at P4P wise when he was a little younger in the late 90's he is going to have to work harder in the gym to accomplish it, he has probably lost since then some natural ability even though he is only 32 his body is probably kind of worn out from boxing and training everyday since he was 13 or 14 or whatever. Plus making relatively major fluctuatons in weight seems to take alot out of boxers and De La Hoya has done a little bit too much of that lately. He needs to be at welterweight and stay there for a long period of time, I think that would help alot. I think fighters like De La Hoya and Jones that rely alot on footspeed and extreme quickness age faster from their prime than other types of fighters like Toney, who are not so reliant on ring movement and extreme quickness. Most importantly he just needs to get the dedication and motivation for boxing back he once had. Alot of it is probably psychological with him as it is physical.

You dont ranked higher in pound for pound just for beating opponents. Its the style you fight in and how you win that gets you ranked high in the P4P. If you totally dominate say Trinidad then maybe you climb in the P4P rankings. Or if you totally outbox Hopkins then maybe you climb the P4P rankings.

I gotta lot of respect for Oscar, Coz' he doesn't duck anyone!... He chasses challenges, unlike others!... And I think, "so what", "he lost to Bernard and Sturm?"... He should never have been fightig at that weight anyways... I thought he beat Mosley is the rematch, and on my list he only lost to Mosley.1 Sturm and Hopkins... Well tow of them you can count out...

I know there's a lot of De La Hoya haters... But the Boy done good!... And he doesn't duck!, Anyone who doesn't duck and looks for a challenge in my book is a credit to the sport!

Ever since Oscar fought at middleweight which was the worse weight class for him

all of a sudden everyone thinks he lost all his skills...
He will be 10 times better at 147...

With all that extra weight, He was slower, weaker, and fought big guys, that just messed everything up...

in order to make it back to the top ten he needs to fight and beat any of the following: cory spinks, zab judah and antonio margarito. i think dlh can beat spinks but it will be tough for him to beat margarito or judah.imo he will never be back at number 1 p4p.

The whole P4P thing is totally overrated. Look who was pound for pound number #1 last year Corey fricken Spinks. For doing what wining a majority descision over Ricardo Mayorga.

Mayorga probably was even ranked high in the P4P rating at one time since he dropped the prolific amatuere boxer Vernon Forest Twice. The guys that are rated high pound for pound are guys that are amateure superstars, amateure superstars like Vernon Forest dont always make good pro's. In alot of cases they do like for instance Kostya, De La Hoya, Holyfield, Foreman,Golota, Jones, Klistchko but in equal amount of cases amateure superstars dont amount to nothing in the pro's.

I think oscar can come back and beat Zab to take his titles, then a fight with margarito take his title and fnish his career with a fight against Kostya or Tito
