I thought that about Peter, too, until I saw him KO Jeremey Williams. Yes we can all agree that Jeremy Williams is a **** fighter, but Williams had ducked out and was beside Peter. Peter had to throw that punch all the way across his body, which requires speed and, more import, great awareness of his environment.

Samuel Peter is going to go great things for boxing. You can knock him now, but the guy is going to be the Marciano of his times. Sure he's limited, but he has so many other things going for him. The skill will develop some with time. He has many favorable attributes going for him that other heavyweights would kill for.

That may be going a little too far. There's definitely potential for some exciting fights, but I don't see Peter as an all-time great.

Yeah.....he is a decent fighter man. The only thing is, he is extremely 1 dimmensional. He can take a punch, and definitely shell one out. If he were to face a fighter as athletic and skilled as Wlad or his brother, he would get knocked out. He is far too slow and has no defense to his credit. He likes to block punches with his shoulders, but I dont think that would be enough to win a fight with either of the klitchkos. The chances of him actually catching a fighter (decent one) with a punch is minimal at best.

If he fought the Wladimir that beat Castillo tonight, he would get beaten bloody and stopped just like Wlad stopped Ray Mercer. Peter does throw combinations, but I dont think they are accurate and fast enough to punish someone this skilled. He looked great against Jeremy Williams, but Jeremy is a extremely mediocre fighter. He would have to really weather a storm against the better heavyweights in order to be labeled "a Marciano of his times".

Not to take away from him Achilles.....I know you like him as a fighter, and I do think he will make a name for himself (already has), but will run into a wall if he fights a highly skilled opponent.

We'll see. I am a huge Marciano fan myself but when he was where Sam is in his career now very few people saw him as a potential all time great either. It remains to be seen if Peter really has the heart, grit, and balls to stand up to the punishment he will be absorbing with his style, but physically he's all there. He just needs to trim down a little; he's a bit soft.

I know it's an out there kind of statement, perhaps fueled by the barren nature of the current heavyweight scene, but I really do have a gut feeling that Sam is going to dominate this division.

If he lands one of his haymakers on any fighter, they are finished. He is the hardest puncher in the heavyweight division, Bar none.
