What are your P4P top 10 changes that should be made in Boxing?

1 - A national or federal boxing commission.

Rules & regulations that extend across state lines. Promoters, judges, referees all held accountable for nefarious actions. John McCain has tried several times but nothing came of it.

2 - Make the official weigh ins the day of the fight.

I find it ridiculous that on fight night welterweight titles are being fought by someone weighing in as a middleweight, flyweights coming into the ring as 130 pounders etc etc.

3 - Elimination of sanctioning bodies

Somebody should just buy the ibf, wbo, wba & roll it into one organization. One champion to represent America. This ties in with 1#. How cool would it be to be called the american featherweight champion or american welterweight champion. The super champion, regular champion, interim champion BS is just a slap in the face to the boxers & fans.

4 - Judges held accountable for bad scorecards.

Suspend judges for horrific scorecards. Fire them along with a ass beating for Gale Van Hoy type score cards.

    5 - Install Instant replay

FFS almost every sport is doing it. Just think of all the good things that could be solved by doing this one little thing.

6 - Age mandatory Retirement for Judges & Referees

Joe Cortez should have been put to pasture A LONG TIME AGO. Same for the Gale Van Hoys & Glenn Hamadas of the world. This is the reason why refereeing in all sports across the board is so horrendous. You are asking 60 year olds to make split second decisions on athletic specimens. That's how so many mistakes occur. Its a fact, as you get older you slow down physically & mentally. England i think has age mandatory retirement for referees.

    7 - Extend fights to 13 rounds

It lessens the draws & gives a close fight another deciding round. I know they did because of the du ko kims death & wbc started the ball rolling. But boxers still die in 12 round fights. Is there data & statistics that encouraged the change or was it just a knee jerk reaction with no research or reasoning behind it?

    8 - Make Catchweights illegal

I think everyone will agree to this. Again this is only possible if we have a national or federal commission.

9 - Recognize Ring Magazine belt as a official title

I find it ludicrous that crooked sanctioning bodies that strip champions of their belts without losing it in the ring, or rate undeserving boxers of 1# rank status, gets recognized, but a long standing historic, righteous Ring belt who PROPERLY RECOGNIZES THE TOP 2 FIGHTERS IN THE DIVSION & RECOGNIZES THE TRUE CHAMPION OF A DIVISION OR TRUE LINEAL CHAMPION who does not charge sanctioning fees gets marginalized by the IBHOF & WBHOF. Start recognizing Ring Titles & stop validating crooked ass sanctioning bodies.

10 - Put boxing Back in Network TV

This past few years has seen boxing heads try to make match ups that are fair, compelling, & with statistical & boxing merit & we end up with great fights.

Boxing is ready for prime time. The boxing fan base is a sleeping giant that needs to be awaken.

      MORE ADVERTISING!

This never applies to anyone, but HBO and Showtime rarely ever do it. Granted better quality match ups help ratings, but why don't HBO and Showtime advertise on ESPN or some **** to tune into watch the fights.

They really only do PPV advertising, but that isn't enough.

No...just no. You can't just say that once someone reaches a certain age suddenly they aren't fit to be judge or ref. It's better to evaluate them on their actual performance regardless of age.

its dangerous because cheating mother****ers were trying to gain a unfair advantage. it worked for what 50 something years? but now its dangerous?

its only dangerous if you use it wrong to gain a unfair advantage & thus deserve to reap the consequences that go along with it.

Right, but it's risky. Fighters will take those risks, drain the hell out of themselves and get battered.

              yes just yes.

So you think your mind & body gets sharper as you hit 60s & up?

60 & 70 year olds shouldnt be judging, refereeing, officiating fast, supremely athletic human specimens.

Slowing down mentally & physically because of age is FACT.

                & what will that do?

it will force boxers to fight in their proper weights.

and how do you think Europe, Asia would react to this? Boxing is a global sport, not just American.

I said or implied that? Oh wait, you made that up.

What makes more sense - judging someone on their actual performance or automatically assuming that someone is no longer capable once they reach a magical age?
