I guess if the money is leigt it is an easy and massive payday. I still don't really like it though. Waste of a fight for Chad when he can be proving to everyone that he is CLEARLY the best fighter in the world at 175 pounds.

How does this random unknown fighter have 4 mill to burn??? I know he's a promoter but i've never heard of any of his events/fighters. He is either crazy confident that he'll win or the businessman in him tells him he'll make over 4 mill on gate,hbo, and the hosting venue.

I don't like how gets into the politics of the sport often delaying fights and refusing to fight some of the younger LHW contenders. Dawson said 2010 would be his year and so far he hasn't done anything to prove that and now he's willing to fight a D level LHW? Where is his pride? Meanwhile you have boxers like Jean Pascal willing to fight anyone.

I agree with you on that.

I think he's been trying to chase the big money fights far too quickly as well.

If he wants to fight Pascal in June, that's fine. However, there's no reason he can't fight a respectable LHW contender in March (or somewhere around that time). He needs to stay active.
