Why did Mosley sit around so long?

I know he was trying to get big fights after the Margarito win, but it seems silly he's been out of the ring this long.

I just rewatched Mosley-Margarito and he was amazing in that fight. Even taking a stay busy type fight would've been a good thing.

I'm afraid he's going to be rusty and in the end (win or lose) miss out on that big paycheck he's been hunting. The only good news for Mosley is that Mayweather-Pacquiao is happening in March, so he has a better chance of landing the winner.

I think he was too stubborn to take anything less than a Pac or May fight and time just kept passing by. Not a good move for a guy in his late 30's...

      Yeah I thought this.

Hopkins has done the same, been too fussy at an old age and made them selves worse off for it.

I don't think Shane was ever getting Pacman on that one win alone, he should have taken another fight because he's lost a lot of the hype he got from the Marg win. It's not like Marg's reputation has climbed since either.

He's also not gona get Pac or Floyd next even.

He should've just fought someone he would look good against to keep busy.

He thought that because he beat Margarito, he can call out whoever he wanted. He should have put in more work.

I don't know, who else could they fight though? I don't think either wants Williams. Margarito means nothing. I don't think Cotto is going to be viable. Manny could fight Marquez, but I don't know if there's interest in that.

That's one thing that Mosley has going for him now. There's not a lot of options for Floyd or Pac after this. At least viable options that bring money.

What would really suck for Mosley is a Mayweather-Pacquiao rematch, which I think is very possible.

Well according to Hopkins on boxing talk its because GBP makes little % on both Mosley and Hopkins fight, For example GBP makes more money on JMM than they would make on Hopkins because GBP would take home more % on JMM than they would on Mosley, One of the reason GBP put JMM forward for a Mayweather fight while Mosley was there.

                Williams offered him a fight...........

                Mosleys response:

"Ill fight anyone but Paul Williams"
