Some say he did, including Roach. His last few fights at 130 were hard to make, apparently, despite what reports said of "we'll make weight fine". Look at the pics of Manny back then:

Ain't exactly healthy looking. So yes, it's possible he was drained, whether that's what you want to hear or not.

You can't fight with that kind of intensity and be weight drained. Plus this all came from Roach's mouth.

Pac was not drained, whether that's what you want to hear or not.

Drained is killing yourself to make weight. Pac was in dog shape.

So I figured it has to be a biased article so I won't waste my time.

Yo Samurai, I'm sorry for last time. I'm still mad at you but my fault. Anyway, Hatton has looked sick in the weigh in many times and looked very healthy as soon as he got in that ring.

No worries man, no need to apologize cause nothing's personal on here.

Right, I hear you about Hatton, and it's a good point. I like to keep an open mind, tbh. Notice I never speak in absolutes about this, I'm just saying it's a possibility that he struggled to make 130 for his last fights at that weight. I wouldn't rule it out man, it's common, that's why a fighter moves up as his body changes (often around 29-30 -- Pacquiao's current age), but usually they'll rinse out what they can from a weight class first. Many don't realize it's a struggle until it happens though (Nate Campbell, for example). So I dunno, is there something unusual about Pacquiao struggling before moving up? He went from LWW to WW in a real short time, but his fight night weight has remained pretty consistent, only increasing by around 4-5 pounds since many years ago.
