In response to comments that were made on Saturday night by WBC/WBO middleweight champion Kelly Pavlik and his promoter Bob Arum [Click Here To Read] - Paul Williams' promoter, Dan Goossen, has fired back with comments of his own. Goossen is willing to negotiate with Top Rank for Pavlik-Williams, as long as there is a 50-50 co-promotion on the event. I wouldn't be suprised if Pavlik's fight with Espino did worse at the gate than the Martinez-Williams fight. Goosen has a point.Comment

Pavlik lost alot of leverage in the negotiations with Williams. PW may give Martinez a rematch first as the first fight was a classic. Goosen and Arum have given boxing black eyes at times, but they also have help promote big fights. I do think PW vs Pavlik will happen after the Martinez rematch.Comment

I can see now that this fight will never happened. Thats why Floyd got GBP. Arum will always have hell making fights with Goosen & Haymon. Pavlik will fight Bute and Williams will fight Martinez. The problem is that neither side wants those fights. Pavlik's people know that the Bute fight could be just like Hopkins part 2 and Williams people dont want him anywhere near Martinez. Thats why they will eventually come back around and they will fight with Pavlik getting 55/45 splitComment
