1-Pavlik/Williams will happen. After that the winner will probably fight Sergio Martinez.

2-HBO invested in Bute because they saw the talent and realized that Kelly is looking to move up and the majority of the talent in that weight class is locked in to the Super Six. By investing in Bute and promoting his next few fights they build him up and make the promotion of Pavlik/Bute a whole lot easier.

3-Don't believe Kelly? Look into staph infections and reactions to antibiotics. His story is totally believable.

4-Pavlik Taylor was at 164 If I recall.
hbo wants to give butte some more exposure, as all the best super MWs are locked into the super six. hbo realizes that pavlik can lose at 168 lbs and just move back down to 160 lbs again and dominate.

but if pavlik is smart, he will stick to 160 lbs.

    no duckage is occuring.

Can we please stop all this ducking crap... This is getting ridicilous... As soon as something is mentioned and it doesn't happen it's already a duck... We live in times of the internet... Earlier it would just have been a thought and now it comes out and it is like this was planned or anything...

I get annoyed w/this ****, too. Best I can figure is people who are bored, and have nothing better to do at the moment than blog, seize upon such minutiae and spin it in such a way as to belittle an athlete that they dislike (usually for a petty reason). Let em' wag their virtual tongues.

Just bored folk lookin' for a lil' drAma in their lives...

Hmm what I heard is that Bute was ducking Dawson.

And Dawson was ducking Steve Cunningham.

That or they are in different weight classes.

When has Dawson called out Bute (which he maybe should since Pascal is injured and he doesn't want anything to do with Cloud)? When has Cunningham called out Dawson? I know Bute and Pavlik are in different weight divisions, but it's still the idea that Pavlik won't take a fight like that even for big money because he knows that Bute would beat him.

I was kidding. seriously Pavlik hasnt looked good north of 160 so I dont think they are eager to get in the ring with Bute. Maybe Bute could come down to 160 to entice them to sign the fight. Doubt it, then we could make the argument Bute was ducking Pavlik bcause he couldnt make 160.

And technically, Williams is considered a small Middleweight who can fight at 147 and 154. So really, Pavlik is feasting on smaller guys. Rubio wasn't really a natural Middleweight, neither was Lockett, and Espino wasn't either if I remember right. And I think Pavlik is just acting brave because Williams looked vulnerable in his last fight. I still want to see Pavlik and Williams fight though.
