I am somewhat glad. Don't want to see another David Tua/Castillo type of performance...

When did he say this? Moorer has a fight on the Golota/Brewster undercard and is coming off of a nationally televised KO win...

And BoxRec still has the fight on

I think its great he is retiring and what a better way to end a career than on a quality win.

If this is true, we've lost Ricardo Mayorga AND Michael Moorer off the May 21 fight card...I bought tickets to see these guys, too

I hope he is; despite being somewhat lethargic and cautious as a heavyweight I respect his heart for getting up all those times against Holyfield II and his entire career below heavyweight. I think he'd be a HOF'er if he'd stayed at Cruiser or below instead of goin for the bucks and glory at heavy. His punch was truly something at those weights but not so much as a heavy.

I don't think we've seen the last of Michael Moorer.

More than anything else, Moorer will be remembered for being a footnote to George Foreman's historic and unbeleivable recapturing of the heavyweight crown.

No doubt, Michael isn't retiring, Teddy Atlas is a pathological liar, he makes the most ridiculous assumptions, and has no comprehension of how to motivate fighters....he's easily the most over-rated trainer of this generation
