Williams isn't slick and isn't lightning fast either. He has good handspeed but your making out he's got Pacquiao/Mayweather handspeed.

Slick fighters tend to be good defensively which Williams isn't. Slick fighters like to use the ring also which Williams doesn't do alot.

    Williams is a volume puncher.

      Pavlik- Williams

I bought the fight last night and it was fun to watch but I have no idea what could be learned by watching it. Espino couldn't hurt Pavlik so Pavlik made no effort to do anything but stand and trade with shoulders touching. When Espino did land a body shot that stung a little or something. Pavlik just pushed him off and punched at distance for a few punches to get his breath. It was a brave effort by Espino and he took some hellacious shots before going down the first time but anyone that has ever seen a fight could tell right away that it was a matter of time before Pavlik got him.

I have often been a Pavlik apologist on here but I am REAL tired of seeing him fight stiffs. And I honestly don't think Williams is the best fight that can be made after seeing him get rocked the way he did by a 154 pounder. I doubt seriously the fight ever happens. I don't think either of them REALLY want it.

To find out what kind of middleweight champion Pavlik is, I think he has to fight a good young true middleweight. But all of the fighters that qualify under that desciption are fighting in the super-middle weight tourney on showtime. Maybe Bute? Maybe Strum?

If Williams tries to slug it out with Pavlik, he will get KO'd. He should use his height and fight at a distance not fight on the inside because Pavlik's inside game looked pretty good.

Paul Williams does have holes in his game, just like Pavlik. I think footwork and power punching will be the key to a match-up between these two. If Williams can land his combination punches and use his footwork to stay out of Kelly's range then he will have a lot of success. However, Pavlik does have the power to stop Williams and if he can slow him down with body punching and land his power shots upstairs he can stop Williams. I know everyone has their opinions but facts are facts. Pavlik pulled out of a fight with Williams several times. The fact that he fights just two weeks after the date they were supposed to fight bothers me. Also, people are questioning whether or not Williams is rated fairly? Since the guy has been ducked by nearly every world class fighter at 147 and 154 lets give the guy props for moving up and wanting to fight the best. He isn't a perfect fighter, like all of boxers, he has weaknesses. They've been exploited at times, but a measure of a true champion is how you comeback after someone has figured you out.

Of course skeptics will have a lot to say about what think about "The Great White Hope," but I see Pavlik as more than a people's champ... he's areal person and a great fighter. He was stopped by Bernard Hopkins when he had the flu, and smashed Taylor twice. This guy is the truth, and knows how to re-adapt when necessary. I am looking forward to a great fight with Pavlik VS. Williams in 2010!

Espino had a plan to get to a rusty inactive Pavlik. You can't stand infront of Kelly he is simply to heavy handed. Only movers have a good chance against him
