Fans perception of the P4P. Why is it that people like Jones/Mayweather kicked back and chilled once they had attained P4P status, should they not have to prove themselves more!! once they are P4P? lets keep in mind that this thing P4P is not factual, its mythical, hence the reason when you are! considered P4P you should!! (in theory at least) continually prove you are what people consider you to be, IE P4P.
Fans seem to have this perception that until someone beats you, or retires in Mayweather's case, that you cant be knocked out off top spot. Tell me are we to believe that if Mayweather had not!! retired and fought the same people he has fought, and that Pacquiao had fought the same people he has fought that he still would not of surpassed Mayweather on the P4P ladder because by all accounts you have to lose the P4P tag, you cant seem to surpass someone by fighting better opponents, particularly if your a little bit cruder like Manny, a bit of a slugger, and the other guy clearly has the better skillet, albeit im not saying he is as good or greater?
Is this the case? because that is the perception i get from fans. What fans/media should of done when Mayweather was P4P and ducking these challenges, was dropped him from P4P number 1 to force his hand so he would have to fight these guys to retain his status, or regain should i say. Boxing fans are all too quick to let fighters get away with this stuff imo.
This P4P status is almost like a belt you win that immortalizes you from taking challenges and puts in a position to earn **** loads of cash in the process of ripping off fans, except when Pacquiao is in possession of it of coarse.
