really? The fight i watched had the decision going to Williams. i coul've sworn the ref raised his hand when the total were announced.

well i guess i was watching the wrong fight because according to you, Martinez got the win. weird huh?

I said the fight was debatable, but I thought Martinez won. My opinion. Just like you believe Williams won. Both are credible opinions depending on how you look at it. The way I saw it, Martinez won.

You can't say one beat the other clearly. Even if one managed to edge the other by a hair, that doesn't prove who the better man was.

I can't say it was clear, no. But I can say who I thought won. My opinion. And I have plenty of reasons, none of them being biased.

You gotta remember also, when Martinez was looking for room to punch, Paul popped him with triple/ quadruple jabs.

Which were largely uneffective.

Props to Paul for his determination and heart. He displayed how much of a warrior he is. But no one is changing my mind on this one.

Sorry to say this but Paul Williams is a mediocre boxer with limited boxing skills considering he's physical advantage with all his opponents.

Yet he keeps on winning fights...and now is about to fight for The Lineal 160 Pound Championship...

Last I checked Cintron has a draw against Martinez, but we both know that's wrong.

Yes, on boxrec, Martinez lost to Williams. But let's think about it this way. If that fight was somewhere outside of the US or in Argentina, you think Williams still gets the decision? Maybe/probably not, right? It was a pretty even fight that depending on how you saw it, could've gone either way.

IMO a rematch is in order. Preferably somewhere where we don't have incompetant biased judges who score an absolute classic as a wipeout.

They count, sure. But not like a big right hook or a hard body shot counts. A draw is fine with me, in fact I think that fight deserved to be a draw because of the way it was fought.

Martinez didn't win ****. Williams might not have looked overly impressive to some, but he did enough to win the fight.

He kept the pressure on Martinez's ass all night long and landed BOMBS on him. Yea, Martinez held his own and brought Paul to hell and back, but Paul won officially and unofficially in my book.
