I agree with this post 100% The Martinez fight was not an easy fight, if anything it made me a fan of both fighters that night. I watched it twice already and love every minute of it. Williams is a great example (at this point in time) of a fighter! Martinez is a great example of a fighter, and I would have no problem rating these two guys in a top 10 right now. I would also enjoy watching a rematch too!
People who hate on Paul Williams are not true boxing fans.

Half of these people aren't boxing fans anyway. They like theirs guys and they hate on slick undefeated boxers and that's all they have in common. How can you hate a guy who will fight anybody and wants to fight everybody.
He comes to the ring with a smile on his face becaus he loves what he does..
He comes to fight..not box and pot shot..Williams comes to fight.
He doesnt run in the ring and he doesnt duck anybody.
He has a good chin, a crowd pleasing style and he never stops throwing punches.
After the Martinez fight the first thing out his mouth was.......
"I dont look for easy fights, I look for the hard fights and I'd love to re-match Martinez"
Most people avoid fighters who cause them match-up problems.....Williams goes TOWARDS those fights..Quitana, Martinez...etc...
He also has his eyes set on Pavlik the 160 Pound Champion.
WAR PAUL WILLIAMS!!!!!!!!!!!!

Martinez clearly won the fight the most Williams deserved was a draw but nothing more.

Berto is so nice you named him twice huh? I like Paul Williams I just think he should stick with one division and clean it out. Make other fighters have to come to him. The MW division is a very prestigeous division one of the original eight. He would do it well to take the crown and become udisputed middle weight champion. After seeing him fight Martinez his style has been exposed some what and he can be defeated but it would take a special set of attributes to do so. i think a hard puncher at 160 would give him problems because he leaves himself out of position and open to counters. he is off balance and throws punches from way to far outside. he does not use his height and bends over towards his opponents putting himself more in range for attacks. his chin is good at 147 and 154 but after being dropped by martinez and seriously hurt in that first round I doubt his chin is that good at 160 or above. As for fighting above 160 I think it would be very hard for him to take on guys like Abraham, Froch and Kessler. Hec I think the JT that fought Froch puts him away....LeftyComment
