Exactly. I was watching the Ruiz Jones fight a bit ago to get a better grip on how Haye Ruiz would go. The difference between Jones and Haye is that Haye is probably going to be incredibly mobile, whereas Jones was relying on his hand speed. I also think that Hay has that power to hurt Ruiz should Haye choose to press the attack.
I don't think he'll be incredibly mobile but I think he'll move enough to get out of the way when Ruiz charges forward. I think he'll stand his ground a little more in this fight compared to the Valuev fight because I feel he'll want to send a statement in front of his hometown fans.
He'll try to nail Ruiz on the way in, like Jones did with the right hand over the top, as you said, the difference between Haye and Jones is that Haye has a heavyweight's punch which is why I'm going with Haye by KO.
Haye is too fast and will KO Ruiz. He may try to hold a lot, but I think it only works on slower Heavyweights. Haye will counter and KO him at this stage. If he doesn't then I'll be surprised
Great thread, Tunney. I think Haye takes this one, and probably easily, if he uses his boxing ability. If it becomes ugly, Ruiz has more then a fair chance of catching Haye with something big out of a clinch, and stopping him. I'd pick Haye, if I was to put money on it.

Absolutely. I am not entirely sure you'll see Haye trade any punches. Even if he is trying to make a point to his fans and critics he is still David Haye and he still doesn't know if he can take a solid shot from a HW. I see him playing keep away like he did with Valuev, only this time he'll push more offense, throw more combos when he comes in, and immediately get back on the move.
I agree it will be a Haye KO/TKO/RTD, I just don't see it being in any sort of impressively badass fashion.
Haye by KO, but I can't be arsed to predict a round. If it's in London, hopefully he'll give the fans some rounds unlike Khan against Salita (even though it was sweet to see live). :laff2:
I don't think we'll see Haye trying to engage at all - he'll look almost gunshy for a few rounds (or "scared", as the haters will inevitably cry), and then fire off a quick one to end it.
I don't think so. The prime version of Ruiz of about 5 years ago would have done okay and probably beaten Haye, but at his age of 38 John's been slowing down, and his Don King-imposed inactivity has likely had an effect.
I don't think Haye will knock him out, but the younger fighter will more than likely win a decision.
I don't think even in his prime (Ruiz) will even have a chance to beat Haye.
