Freddie called out Floyd first.....then Mayweather complained that Manny isn;t calling him out (*note that Floyd did not necessarily call Manny out) He said he is the King and he should be the one who gets called.
A few days later, Manny calls him out.

I think the fight will likely be announced shortly after the holidays, since the fighters want some quiet time with their family. So the fight will be officially be announced sometime between December 26- January 2nd. We need to read between the lines. In this article about pac bday bash someone in the pac camp said:

"Two-time world champion Dodie Boy Penalosa,said he has been advised about the start of training by the second or third week of January either in Baguio City or Los Angeles."

That makes sense has pac trains for about 2 months and the second week of january is about 2 months earlier than March 13. As i said before it will be horrible mistake if the fight dosent happen on March 13 or shortly after that. Alot of momentum and build up will be LOST, which means millions of dollars can be lost. The fans will get pissed if its moved to late 2010. In addition, March is slow time for sports. No NFL, no NBA Playoffs, NHL Playoffs, and even baseball is only in spring trainning.

Until the FIGHT is CANCELED, spare these speculation threads that FLOYD or PAC are scarred and it wont happen. I have taken the long trip to the philippines, u think Bob Arum will go down there unless he knew that pac will do the fight? Floyd knows he will lose his audience if he dosent take the fight. So until someone says the fight wont happen we must assume the March date is the correct date.

The reason Floyd is "acting" like he wants the Pacquiao fight is because he's trying to recover from the punking that Shane put on him after the JMM fight. Shane made him look like a complete punk, had him shook.

So now that the Pacquiao challenge has arisen, Floyd is under tremendous pressure to not look like a punk, again. That's why he's pretending to want this fight, but he knows in his heart that he may very well lose to Manny.

And the fight may get done (I hope it does), I never said that it won't. What I'm saying is, Floyd is trying to negotiate his way out or negotiate conditions that will give him more of an advantage over the smaller Pacquiao. Why? Because he's scared to lose his "0". At this point, it's the only thing he's got going for him.
