I'm more intrigued by this fight now than I was before the Martinez fight. I honestly can't say who would win this one. I saw Paul making a lot of mistakes in the Martinez fight. He sometimes over commits on his punches while he is out of range. He also doesn't use his height to his advantage sometimes. However, Bernard showed that Pavlik has trouble dealing with angles. I just wanna see this fight! No excuses - if Pavlik makes it through his next fight, this one has to happen!
Pavlik is too flat footed for Williams, he'd get turned, outboxed and beaten up. He might win a few rounds, but he can't deal with lateral movement. He was outboxed by Jermain Taylor for portions of their second fight, coming close to losing it. Hopkins exposed it even further...
Who gives a damn about Pwill. That match with Martinez proved that he is a D-ranked fighter
Paul *does* have flaws, but I think you are off base calling him a D ranked fighter. Ask yourself this question - who do you think has the most potential to improve? I think both men fought their hearts out, but I see some really obvious habits in Paul that can be improved upon. I would favor Paul in a rematch.
i said this before pwill fought martinez, pavlik would have knocked him out
he wouldnt have the size advantage on KP and someone as easy too hit as paul is only going too get taken out by pavlik
i hate repeating myself, but i been saying this for months
Having said this - wouldn't you like to see this fight? You've got a guy that is there to be hit, but he's pretty good at giving angles. And then you've got a guy with a great punch, but he has trouble dealing with angles. I see this as a fight where one guys' weaknesses plays into the other guys strengths and vice versa. Styles make fights, and this one will be a classic fight IMO!
