Floyd Mayweather does not fight smaller opponents.

These aren't the pre-fight weights. These are the weights of the fighters on fight day. After two fights against Hatton and JMM, he is now considered to only fight small opponents... funny.

    Floyd Mayweather Jr – 148
    Sharmba Mitchell – 155

    Floyd Mayweather Jr – 146
    Zab Judah – 150

    Floyd Mayweather Jr – 149
    Carlos Baldomir – 162

    Floyd Mayweather Jr – 138 ½
    Jose Luis Castillo – 147 ½

    Floyd Mayweather Jr – 138
    Jose Luis Castillo – 147

    Floyd Mayweather Jr – 136 ½
    Diego Corrales – 146

    Floyd Mayweather Jr – 146
Oscar De La Hoya – 154

    Floyd Mayweather Jr – 142
    Henry Bruseles – 150

    Floyd Mayweather Jr – 140
    Philip N’dou - 147

    Floyd Mayweather Jr – 145
    Demarcus Corley – 144

    Floyd Mayweather Jr – 137 ½
    Jesus Chavez – 136

I'm still not understanding the Hatton beef. Did Mayweather have to drop down to 140 to fight Hatton to get some credit?

Thanks, just never understood this. He's hated on so many levels. I would like to see him against tougher opposition but he has challenged the best of them and they never wanted to fight him.

              I'm a fan of Floyd's but that's a very misleading post.

Nobody discredits the size of men Floyd fought when he was a lightweight. The real criticism is that Floyd has been in the welterweight division for awhile and didn't fight any of the true, decent sized guys in the division like Cotto or Mosley. Yes, I think Floyd has a tendency to fight men who aren't too much larger- it's just smart.

Of the fights you listed, only 4 are from the time he's moved past 140 lbs.- the post- Gatti Mayweather.

Of those, Carlos Baldomir, the seemingly largest man on the list at '162' was as feather-fisted and rough as they come. He couldn't hurt Floyd and wasn't skilled enough to pose a real challenge. It's a very misleading entry.

Further, nobody discounts the Oscar was bigger than Floyd, do they? The argument of him fighting small guys has more to do with his exploits at 147 itself.

Mitchell was done when he fought Floyd. Sure, he came in heavy but he was a washed up junior-welterweight. That just showed how over his career was; he was heavy, with no power, and having been hurt and knocked out a few times before; especially the Tszyu massacre.

Zab Judah, again, the final guy from your list that has been in Floyd's welterweight era, is truly a 140 lb. fighter. It's where he belongs- and that's discounting his focus problems that made him hard to take too seriously at 147. Sure, he was quick and could box (for a few rounds) but I don't know that his size was a real issue. If anything, he was Floyd's size.

I'm just being fair. I'm a fan of Floyd's, too but he's not done much in the way of beating top, prime 147 lb. fighters. Not yet, at least.

Seriously, he just defeated one big heavyweight and all this BS talk about him. Fking Haters

Manny Pacquiao will never defeat a 300 LB fighter like Floyd did.
