"Mayweather has as much a chance against De La Hoya as Eric Morel has against him!

That's a quote from Larry Merchant during the telecast of Mayweather vs. Sosa.

That's why DLH avoided Mayweather until he could make him move up to 154, and weigh in at 167 on fight night.

2007-05-05 : Floyd Mayweather Jr beat Oscar De La Hoya by SD in round 12 of 12
Location: MGM Grand, Las Vegas, Nevada, USA

Well by looking at the stats and watching the fight...it didn't look like a split decision to me. It looked like a boxing clinic being put on. That's the facts.

That was in 2003 before the second Mosley fight. If Mayweather had fought De La Hoya then, he would have been beaten quite decisively.

Well before the fight, DLH was the slight favorite and he was gonna KO Floyd. Post fight, he was old, past it, and people tried to harp on the SD.
Anyone with a brain who watched that fight knows DLH won.

Also, imagine if Floyd fights Mosley and wins. Will the 38 year old Mosley be past it then as well?
              I imagine he will be.

Mosley is a completely different fighter then Mayweather, don't understand the comparison there. All the things De La Hoya did well against Mayweather when he was past it, in 2003 he would have done even better and much more consistently against Mayweather who was still at 140 then.

the same ones that want that fight so bad, will be the same ones saying shane was an "old, 39 year old fighter," after he gets beaten....
