Dammit. Who Told Erik That 143 Was an OK Weight?

If he hadn't been so heavy I think he would have won. However he got the idea that it was all right to come in so heavy, the bottom line is, it was the worst thing he could do. I mean COME ON! That's not one division, or even two divisions higher than super feather. He was a small WELTERWEIGHT! If he hadn't been so damn slow and if he hadn't tried to outbox Barerra because he felt sluggish, he would have won. That's my opinion anyway. So be it if you disagree with me.

i just hope pacman gets past 3k-battery and jmm, so all of us can see pac-mab 2. it's getting more interesting now. i know that mab said that he'll go back to 126 after the morales fight. do you think it's still a good idea for him to go back to 126 to fight pac -- now that he knows he's still effective at 130 and has the advantage over the smaller pac at this level?

Yeh, it's a good idea for him to go back down. Taking one fight at 126 does not preclude more fights at 130, and going back down in weight offers a built in excuse in case of a loss. Should he win against Pacquiao, he can always choose to stay, of course, and fight Oscar Larios up from 122, Scott Harrison or In Jin Chi to unify the titles, or maybe wait and get a more matured Rocky Juarez into the ring.

But if he takes more fights at 130 he would be more likely to lose his effectiveness down the scale and would also lose the opportunities for some great fights. Of course, staying at 130 offers some pretty good fights, but not the same options he would have at 126.

I mean, sure, at super feather, he could take on...Erik Morales.
Wait. Morales was the biggest name at 130...so in order to get another big name, he would have to take on a lightweight...which would almost certainly mean a loss. Really, would you pick Barerra over Corrales, Castillo, or Casamayor? What about Diaz?...or Diaz? I think he would have a decent chance of beating Diaz and possibly Casamayor. None of the others.

Morales was heavy , but Roy Jones Jr. said if he hadnt had the extra weight he wouldve been knocked down or out.

              aww man
im so heart broken right now
              he just was too overconfident
but then again if he wasnt he just wouldnt be himself

all the comments about how mab didnt belong in his league made me kinda nervous
once i heard that he struggled to make the 130 limit my gut kinda twsited
once i heard he wieghed in tonite at 143 it felt like someone punched me in the stomach

i knew he hadnt trained properly for mab

then as the fight progressed it was obvious he was waiten for mab to tire
and on top of that he was lookin for that one punch way too much

not too take away from mab
              he obviously wanted it more
he trained right and followed his game plan to the letter

i always knew he wasnt done after pac

but i never thought hed still have enough to beat erik
