You said it yourself bro. Why take it up if you arent prepared for the sacrifice.
It's like wanting to join the military to shoot people without wanting to get deployed.Comment

I never minded taking the punishment that you take, and training is fun but I guess i just wasn't able to develop the skills in enough time needed to become a pro......also there were years where there was no gym in my town, years when I was in my late teens and would have been the optimum time to learn and gain experience. There is a gym that was just set up, I may start going again.Comment

I think you should go back to boxing Larry, I wish I staid but my job won't allow me to have some serious training, Im an operator(process tech) and anyone that does this type of work understands why I could never have serious training camps, I just keep doing the workouts i did in the boxing gym when I was boxing.
3 rounds of shadow boxing(with 2lb weighs in my hands)
3 rounds of mixed exercises
3 rounds on the double end bag
3 rounds on the heavy bag
run 2 miles a day
Im still in great shape iv'e always been thin though im 5'8 135lbs.
Go for it Larry it would be nice if your kid makes it and later on says you were his motivation.Comment
