I think he said that because Lacy also hurt his shoulder and had to have surgery since. Afterwards, Left Hook Lacy was without Left hooks.

Pascal has proven he's legit, while Lacy beat no one before getting spanked by Calzaghe. If Pascal can fight with a dislocated shoulder, he should be okay once he recovers. There have been many boxers who recovered from a dislocated shoulder. Iceta said Pascal will be another Lacy because he can't accept the fact that Pascal is better than Cloud.

That's not what I meant. I'm just saying that because he has to have shoulder surgery it is likely going to hamper his career. Jeff Lacy isn't the only example. Look at Vernon Forrest. And I never said I didn't think Pascal isn't a good fighter. I just think Cloud is better. You have your opinion and I have mine.

I guess Cloud becomes Dawson's best option short moving down to 168 and fighting Bute.

well this sux...dislocating your shoulder is a bad injury because it is likely to happen again...hope his recovery goes smoothly so he gets back in the ring and fights Tarver...which won't happen until probably like the end of 2010 or early 2011

He was still throwing the right hand ok at times in the fight even after the injury in the 3rd round so i think he should be ok it will just take a while to recover, when he hurt Diaconu he was still throwing bombs with the right hand i think he will be just fine but he will probably need a warm up fight before taking on Dawson, The only worry is if it happens again. Pascal is one of my fav fighters at the moment ever since the Froch fight.

Comparisons to Forrest and Lacy are irrelevant compared.

Forrest had a total of 3 surgeries reconstructing his shoulder and elbow and repairing nerve damage.

Lacy tore his rotator cuff.

Both were much more significant injuries than a shoulder dislocation which is actually not all that uncommon in boxing.

Just because you have surgery doesn’t mean you won’t be the same. If the surgery is done properly and he has proper recovery program there is no reason he won’t be the same, plenty of footballers have surgery and come back ok.

So how did people score those 2 fights? I had them at 118-109 and 118-110 for Pascal. It's the only time I've ever seen Diaconu, and he looked like **** to me - just your basic hard-hitting, one-dimensional plodder who can't deal with a slickster. Even Pavlik is more exciting to watch.

I came away with a desire to watch every one of Pascal's future fights (hopefully he makes a very speedy recovery, because a Dawson fight would be great), but I can't say the same about Diaconu. Even fellow Romanian Bute would make him look silly if they ever fought at 168 or 175.

Yeah most Pascal fights are good his fight against Froch was excellent, and his fight against Nievas had a great ending. I was thinking about going to Canada to see his next fight if it was against a big name fighter like Dawson.

As cool as it would be, somehow I really can't see Dawson fighting Pascal in Canada. :laff2:

I like Dawson as much as anyone else, but it seems as though he only wants Hopkins and won't even consider other (better) options. He needs to come back down to Earth and be realistic. It should be either Cloud or Pascal next - nobody else cuts it.
