Why all the DLH hate??

I could never understand this! Please explain to me why he isn't a "REAL" Mexican!

1. Both grandparents from both sides are Mexican.
2. Both of his parents are Mexican.
3. He was born in USA but still carries his parents MEXICAN blood.

These are his acomplishments...

1. Olympic Gold Medalist
2. 6 Division Champ
3. PPV King
4. Successful promotional company among the biggest out there.
5. Always fought the best and biggest names out there from the beginning of his career to the end.

I just don't see why people hate this man so much, I believe the people who hate on him are the ones who didn't watch boxing in the early 90's and just started watching a couple years ago. Some people just never knew how good he was.


Even thugh I ain't Mexican, I've always had mad love N respect for The Golden Boy!

i give DLH credit for making big fights, having a good style that was easy on the eye and his promotional company has made some of the biggest fights in boxing.

but theres just something about DLH, i dont know what it is, i can't quite put my finger on it. he just seems so superficial and shallow, his words just seem shallow.

it soon became apparent that he was never an ATG fighter but he was treated like one. i don't know just something about him that p!ssed me off!!!

He's a fake!!!! He made his public believe he was risking himself against the most dangerous opponants, while in fact he made them struggle to make weight, TITO. fought recently beaten fighters, VARGAS, MAYORGA, and challenged smaller SSM, PBF, and MANNY PACQUIAO while getting exposed by all 3 of them!!!! If he were black or a white man, he would of been a nobody, but since he's mesican and gay, he's an all time mesican hero!!!!!

word up it was when he beat the breaks out of Chavez, people felt like he was picking on an old man but Chavez was still a threat at that time, he was a 10+ year pro who was very durable and even went I think almost 10 more years after his De La Hoya fights, I could be mistaken about that but I think he did. regardless Chavez is Chavez and the Mexican people took it too far, they rejected De La Hoya and put a stain on his name forever all because he did his job against a guy they like alot which IMO ****in sucks..

the reason why I never really fancy Oscar like that is because even though he fought MANY of the worlds best he also got a lot of gift decisions, if Trinidad and Mosley do down as 2 robberies against him then you gotta count Quartey, Whitaker, Molina (SOME say) and Sturm and how they got robbed against Oscar..

regardless though 3 of those 4 names got robbed way before Oscar got "robbed" against Trinidad and Mosley, he was given gift decisions and didn't moan, it was all apart of the game when it was to your benefit but then you wanna ***** and cry when you feel you got "robbed", that turned me away from him a bit but at heart I always respected him which has nothing to do with liking him

Also add that he ducked margarito and made pacquaiao jump two weight class to fight him. He just diidnt know that pacquaio would carry both his speed and power in the higher weight.

And people forget that he had major backlash for that fight and pacquaiao was a complete under dog.

And then mexican fans hated delahoya for fighting a shot chavez twice

As a boxer, I have no problem with Oscar, I thought he was good. But it's hard for me to listen to him talk in interviews and stuff because he always sounds like he's coming off as being fake. He doesn't seem down to earth to me.
