    Rjj (the best ever) ?

roy jones once went a full round without being hit and 57 rounds being hit less then 10 time in his prime he was damn near unbeatable and the best pound for pound ive seen period but those day were done after john ruiz he shouldve never went back down in weight

his losses have made him seem beatable and not as good as we thought. but that is not the truth in his prime he was the best fighter to ever lacy them up. what upsets me is the calzaghie loss. he looked like a complete bum after 2rds. i like watching the first 2rds of that fight and turn it off after that (lol) because in his prime it would have been like the first 2rds for the whole fight if it lasted 12rds. its a sad sight to see him now.

showing us flashes of the old roy
what i notice now is when roy throws his punches he does not put as much power into his punches in fear of being hit. when he came down from heavy his strength was never the same these shots he lands on tarver would have stopped tarver in his prime. its sad

Not the best ever, but definitely an all time great. You nailed it; what screwed him was the doing the YO-YO with his weight at that age during that time. He's never been the same after that. By stripping down all that muscle from HW it made him lose his reaction time and reflexes. Even Mackie Shilstone the guy that bulked him told him it wasn't a good idea to go back down in weight.

someone made the point that when his running skills faded he couldn't get by on his boxing skills, it's a pretty good one imo.

He's an ATG, no doubt, but I think he's tarnished his legacy a bit recently.

The weight gain, I agree is what really hurt him. Cutting and Gaining constantly isn't good for the body.

IMO, Jones should have retired after he took the title from Ruiz.

Greatest ever, IMO, and he proved it in the ring.

You show me the fight where Sugar Ray Robinson TKO'd Richard Frazier in two rounds and I'll be prepared to admit I'm wrong.

Ever since 168 has been a division, I'd make Jones the favorite over anyone at that weight class.

At 175, I wouldn't make him the favorite over Michael Spinks or Bob Foster.
