Or is it something to do with a sustain beating they may have taken in that fight. I thought Juan Diaz kept getting worse after losing to Campbell, same with Jeff Lacy and same with Kessler. I think Kessler fought more bum-level fighters after losing to Calzaghe, while Lacy atleast was fighting a decent fighter in Vitali Tsypko right after losing to Calzaghe. Even though Lacy and Diaz were fighting good competition after losing, they still didn't look like they were at their best anymore after losing their 0 in my opinion.

People are saying that Marquez ruined Diaz but forget that Nate put a serious beating on Juan Diaz.

That too, then Juan took a beating by Marquez which couldn't have helped. Its like when Lacy took an ass beating by Calzaghe, Taylor, then Roy Jones Jr. While Kessler, he just fought complete bums after losing to Calzaghe in my opinion. I mean these guys shouldn't have shared the same ring or even hold Kesslers jock-strap. Then Kessler fights a live opponent like Ward, I knew Kessler was going to lose but kind of shocked he got the **** kicked out of him pretty bad. Taylor must have been punching Lacy really hard too, because I heard Lacy thought he won that fight some how...

well with lacy a big part of it was zags and a big part of it was him losing his left hook to shoulder injuries.

I don't think Lacy has anything to be ashamed of, I think he took on more threats overall compared to Kessler. Not counting the Ward beating Kessler took, I'm talking about right after Lacy lost to Calzaghe Lacy still was trying to fight good fighters.

It all depends on the person/fighter... Some people take a lose as a re-awakening... A new determinining factor to build up on and overcome... Or some people take lose as the beginning of the end, never truly recovering from it... Look at Leonard's first lose to Duran
