Really? There are still idiots out there like you who are saying this garbage? What is it about a staph infection, Pavlik being unable to train, Williams not agreeing to push back the fight to allow Pavlik a proper training camp and Pavlik being forced to fight by the commissions you don't understand?

Pavlik didn't duck Williams and all he has said since the fight fell apart is that he wants Williams after Espino. Quite frankly, given the situation, a tune up fight after being out of the ring since Feb. is exactly what Pavlik needs to ensure a great fight with Williams early next year.

Funny I was wondering how there were still idiots that actually bought Pavliks story

Allowing this fight to be shown as a PPV as Christmas nears is a glove in the mug to all Youngstown residents, let alone all fight fans.
It's a shameful way to end a great year of prize fights.
If Williams were the opponent per the original plan, I would be feeling much more festive about this contest. But I think Martinez put on as good a show as any fighter could have during the '09 season.

With times being tough, this would have been a perfect opportunity for boxing to give something back to the fans--put on a great card and help people take their mind off of things for a few hours.

But what does Team Pavlik do: pick a horrible opponent and then on top of that charge $40 for a PPV.

            Shame on Kelly and Loew.

**** will do less numbers than Zab's last ppv

I think it has more to do with the matchup and the way it came about, less to do about the economy. Yeah, tickets sold fast against Rubio because it was acceptable for Kelly to take a tune up after the beating he took from Hop. It is not acceptable to take a fight weeks after pulling out of a fight with PWILL and on top of that you take another tuneup, fans aren't dumb. Poor management and I am glad people are choosing not to give Kelly an easy pay day. You want to get paid, fight someone with a pulse.

If Pavlik really had a staph infection why miss several doctor appointments? He postponed the fight 2 times against PW. PW needs to fight so he took Martinez who is far from a pushover and we got a great fight. If Pavlik really was injured he still would postpone the fight and forfeit his title. Fighters have fought with broken hands, cuts, dehydrated, shoulder injuries, and he is crying for a staph infection, even his own Ohio fans have said F-YOU to Pavlik and good for him.

I love it. Pavlik gets jack **** for fighting a bum and the fight loses money. Hopefully the PPV will bomb on top of it and convince Arum to put Pavlik in a real fight instead of protecting him.

i love pavlik as a fighter but come on 40 bucks to watch espinosa.
never even heard of the guy before 6 months ago.

we get a classic martinez and williams on hbo but instead have to pay 40 bones for pavlik against a nobody.
                      bs.
with the economy like it is, this is crap.
