I don't think it would be a smart nor lucrative move when talking about Floyd Mayweather. Kelly Pavlik isn't what we call a finesse fighter, but he is what he is...a fighter. Floyd hasn't really pulled the trigger like he used to in the lighter divisions and now relies heavily on countering and not getting hit. In a fight with Pavlik, you're going to be in a fight. Even with how hard and unorthodox stylewise BHop is the ring, he still brought the fight to Pavlik. Mayweather can't and wouldn't try that against Pavlik. He can try to box Pavlik, but I think Pavlik would use his reach, height, size, power to his advantage. It wouldn't look like Cotto vs Pacquiao, the size advantage would be incredibly noticeable. Now, can Mayweather take Pavlik's shots? I truly don't think so. You can be great, but a hard hit is a hard hit and Pavlik is the hardest puncher in the division, hands down. Floyd is leagues above Pavlik in every sense of the word, but Pavlik isn't the Middleweight champ for no reason.Comment
