You don't think the first Pacquiao fight took something out of Morales? I think it did. Also, he was beating Pacquiao by half way through the second fight. We can't complain at this rematch, it was arranged before the Raheem fight and the specified weight was 130, so weight drain excuses are pretty much invalid.

Just on a side Erik was spent by the time that rematch came around.

I will defend Pacquiao to the end against individuals like this but to believe that the version of Morales that Pacquiao beat was anything like his prime self is incorrect. I'm not saying that a later version of Pacquiao wouldn't have beaten Erik, but Erik was just done by that second fight. Too many wars.

If you're real critical, you can say Floyd hasn't done anything impressive since beating Castillo in 2002. UD over Judah = big deal. SD over Oscar = big deal. Ten rounds against Hatton at 147 = big deal. UD over welterweight version of Marquez = big deal. And so on.

Anyone can be ripped apart, including the best fighters in the world.

I'm not a Manny Pacquiao hater. I like watching the guy fight and I respect his skills immensely. With that said, when I really take a close look at his resume, I see that it's kinda misleading (especially any fight above 135).

He gets loads of credit for beating a Miguel Cotto that was severely beaten and forced to submit (in mma terms: he tapped out) by Antonio Margarito.

Shortly after that fight he was more competitive but nevertheless he caught a beating at the hands of Josh Clottey.

How much credit does Manny Pac really deserve for TKO'ing Miguel Cotto?

We all know De La Hoya was past him prime and weight drained. It was a shocking win for Manny, but again, how much credit does he really deserve?

Out of the three (hatton,dlh,cotto), Ricky Hatton was probably the least faded. And even in that scenario, Hatton was knocked out slightly over a year prior by Mayweather.

Pac is being built into this Ray Robinson-like demi God and I think it's unwarranted.

Mayweather may not be fighting the biggest KILLERS at welterweight, but his last three opponents weren't coming off knockout losses either.

JMM was coming off KO wins over Casamayor and Juan Diaz...
De La Hoya was coming off a career rejuvinating KO of Ricardo Mayorga...
Ricky Hatton was UNDEFEATED at the time he fought Floyd...

In all honesty, Mayweather has fought tougher and FRESHER competition.

Just face it. Mayweather has fought fresher guys throughout his career. From Diego Corrales to Jose Castillo to Ricky Hatton. These guys were FRESH when they fought Mayweather.

The thing that stands out is the way he defeats them. Pacquiao has given pretty much everyone the beating of their lives. He did it like he was supposed to, it's not like he struggled against faded legends. Hatton got off lightly.

Whatever anyone says, the Oscar fight was a huge risk. Nobody knew Oscar wouldn't rehydrate properly. The fight was dubbed a mismatch by almost everyone. Regardless of anything else, it was a great business move, as was the Hatton fight, to get Pacquiao into a position where he could fight the likes of Mayweather. The Diaz fight also opened big doors for Pacquiao, and at the very least, it showed that Pacquiao could go up in weight and remain effective.
