Were the Malignaggi/Diaz fights different enough 2 merit such contrasting scorecards? I think many would agree that Paulie was even more effective in the second fight but I don't think it was enough to earn such vastly differing scorecards from the first fight. The first fight was scored (118-110, 115,113, 116-112 all for Diaz) and the second fight was scored (116-111 on all three cards.) Two relatively similar fights resulting in UD's for two different fighters? With cards as wide as 118-110 and 116-111? Sounds more like boxing politics at play than the actual scoring of fights. Poll to follow please discuss.

The scoring on both fights was correct. No shenanigans or incompetence.

Good point Woodside. I was thinking about this myself.

The other thing I was wondering was, if the rematch was in Texas, could they have still found a way to rob Paulie?

The first fight was very close but I scored it 115-113 for DIaz. I think he did enough in the first fight to win. Paulie made Diaz look very bad ine rounds he won in this fight you factor in the KD or ush down in that round and the score of 116-111 was very accurate...Lefty

paulies boxing style makes people think he is automatically the winner against the brawler. the first fight diaz won, he landed the far better punches. when diaz would land, they were turning paulies head side to side, snapping his head back and making him stumble. when paulie would land, it seemed like taps. the second fight, was ****.

Dude, Diaz didn't do **** in this fight, which is why he lost and the scorecards reflected it.

I thought Paulie won both fights. Though the first fight was much closer IMO.

This is how I felt which is why I think it's not possible to go from 118-110 for Diaz to 116-111 for Malignaggi. The fights were not different enough to facilitate such drastic swings in the scoring.

I had it 115-113 and 117-111 for Malignaggi, in both fights respectively. The first was close and could've been a draw or gone a round either way, but the second was a one-sided clinic (and I didn't score that KD, obviously).
