I would love to see a fight between Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Oscar De La Hoya, not necessarily for the fight itself, but just to see what kind of advice Mayweather Sr. can give Oscar in the cornr.

Kostya Tzyu is a jr Welterweight along with mayweather, Gatti, Cotto, and others. the top 3 guys at welterweight Cintron, Margarito, Judah, Mosely, Estrada. Whowever wins this the fight between Estrada and Mosely is likely to be ranked #1 contender by both the IBF and WBC. So Judah might have to fight one of them before he can worry about De La Hoya.

If De La Hoya goes to welterweight though it would not surprise me if Tzyu came up in weight to fight him. De La Hoya would have a big size advantage over Tzyu and De La Hoya hits hard. So I dont know if Tzyu would want to fight him. De La Hoya has huge shoulders and legs for welterweight and has extreme strength in that divsion.

Although Oscar doesn't need to prove anything to anyone, he is a shoe in for the Hall Of Fame already, I do think he can beat everyone at Welterweight at this time.

As for his promotions, more power to him, he is the kind of promoter that any young boxer would love to have, he has been there, done that, seen that, felt that and anything else you can come up with. He is very good for the sport, like him or not...

GREAT post! Oscar is all about the Benjamin's, that's why I wouldn't be shocked to see him fight Zab Judah because Oscar can take home about 15-20 mil for the fight, while he'll only need to cough up 6-8 mil for Zab, plus it's a very winnable fight for Oscar

I was wrong about Judah facing Mosely or Estrada for a mandatory it looks one of his mandatories is coming up in May against Cosme Rivera, He is the IBF mandatory. Shane Mosely is the current WBC #1.

After Wright looses to Trinidad, DLH will not be interested in him.

I think though its possible because the welterweight titles are already unified. It is possible i think for oscar to beat Zab, not garanteed but possible, so yes, i could imagine in happening but i wouldn`t back money on it because i think Oscar has lost his zest for boxing.
I agree. He doesn't seem to be the same fighter he used to be, but that was mostly evident in only his most recent fights at middleweight. I thought he looked pretty good against Mosley, so maybe all he needs is to get back down to welter.

It's all about the bucks for Oscar now. He should just retire he made enough already.

Btw i think if Vargas gave Oscar fits in the beginning of their fight by charging him and being able to get him against the ropes, Antonio Margarito can too especially right now with the diminished drive of Oscar, and the way Mayweather Sr. has taught him to fight.

Oscar isnt the same fighter, he got by the Vargas fight because he raised both his hands again, he went back to what he learned as a kid after Vargas was able so easily to get to him from his "Shoulder roll style".

The more and more he fights with Mayweather Sr. in his corner the easier it is going to be for fighters to get clean shots at him because soon enough he wont revert to what he used to do, only what Sr. has "taught" him.
