Diaz is ineffective at 140. He doesn't have the power to back people off.
He looked small and very slow at 140. Paulie is fast but he didn't llook explosive like he did at 130-135. I agree with GBP and I think he can make another run and give us some exciting fights with opposition at that weight...Lefty
He should go down to 130, with Soto moving up, he could dominate.
I don't see Juan getting back to where he was at before at 135. He'd have to be managed carefully at lightweight with the power punchers (Valero, Funeka, Acosta) and slicksters (Peterson, Guzman, Vazquez, Mitchell) there. Katsidis might even beat him, if he does what he did to Escobedo and gave him no space.
Yeah I said this earlier that some people from Sav. told me he is going to 130....
So you go their too? Who do you know there and do you train there?
My little brother did for about a month, hes an amateur 10-0 but he returned to his old gym at Puro Azteca Boxing, Savannah is too crowded and he got no attention there, you either gotta be a pro or related to one to get any attention there, or so it semed, too bad because he's pretty good. You train there? I train at Ringsters Boxing Gym...but my little brother is alot more serious than me having started since he was 8.
We were down at Savannah a few hours ago and Ronnie Shields was saying all this bull**** about him wanting Diaz to stay at 140 but GBP wants him at 130-135 not a pound above 135!
B-hop and Shane were the ones that made the call, now ronnie has to get Diaz down to that weight, and they said another possible double header in Houston featuring both Houston natives again...Diaz and Juarez, both will get some guys that come forward and slug, so according to Shields, Houston will get some excitement again.
I say they should keep Diaz at 130 or 135 thats where he was action packed and threw punches in bunches. Best of luck to the Baby Bull, I think at 130 he will have some decent power!
I think its time for Baby Bull to get out of Savanah and find a new gym, out of town. either go to California or Nevada. If not Savanah needs some senior trainers in there, thats if they want Juan Diaz to go to the next level.
