    Vazquez vs. Marquez IV

Is this fight finalized? Boxrec has it listed as 5/22, which I know doesn't really mean anything, but I was just wondering if I missed something. Is this definitely happening?

      I hope not.
It'll be like SRL - Duran III, etc.

Oh, I'm not saying I'm for it. I think it's unnecessary and it puts 2 guys who are already at risk at an even greater risk. I was just wonder if it was definitely happening. I understand it though. I don't think any other fight at 122 or 126 could draw as much as a fourth fight. Both guys are veterans at this point and their looking to make money before they get out.

True but if they can get some hyping promoters they could take the easy fight out but I guess their hearts are filled with too much pride, not that its necessary a bad thing but still bro

I think they are done anyway tbh. This trilogy wasn't the first hard few fights they had been in- they were both already top pros who had done battle in taxing fights on the top level before that. Add to that Rafa was already in his thirties and Izzy was approaching them (and hes there now) and yeah, I think the young guns around the 122-126 range would be too much for them right now. The fourth fight will still be damn good though, their styles and mindsets will still make for lots of action. Both will be even more wrecked afterwards though.

Those three fights were brutal and took years off their careers and hopefully not their lives. They've already given so much to the sport and will go down in history as being part of one of the most thrilling trilogies in the sport's history.

Hopefully, no further damage is done during the fourth fight.

People keep saying about how much these guys contributed to the sport and what they're doing is a bad thing - but why deny them the right to fight each other for a fourth time if they really want to? It's their life, their career, and obviously their preference.

Let 'em do battle as many times as they like, I say.

I understand both sides. It's like which is worse: allow a fighter to potentially do permanent damage to themselves, or deny them their livelihood. That's always been the debate since the beginning of the sport.
