Andre Ward has been fighting similarly to Hatton

I get what you're saying, but it just annoys me when people say that a fighter was winning anyway like that's a good enough reason for them to break the rulesWith respect to your post, most headbutts are really hard to call if they were intentional or not. Sometimes they are obvious. Other times just an accident.
I don't think it's ok to cheat if you're winning OR losing. Maybe some people do, but i would say a good boxing fan doesn't.Comment

To agree with you both to a point...i see a some boxers that are developing this "leading with the head" becoming more popular as a "style" (bs)
It's not needed and i don't like it.
Clottey for one is famous for leading with the head. I admitted ward did it uneccesarily, as he was going to beat Kessler anyway, i don't like it either.
No, i wouldn't call you crazy...just crazylegs...lol. Ok, poor attempt at humor...
I agree with you more than not about the headbutting. but i just think you aren't giving Ward enough credit, which is your opinion and i respect your right to it. This is a nice respectful discussion.Comment

He's used dirty tactics in ALL his fights, except against Miranda he was in with someone just as dirty as himself. He beat Miranda pretty well, and Ward got headbutted on that fight early, but recovered well and went on to beat him down. He didn't headbutt him. And Miranda broke AA's jaw!
Yeah, i agree Ward used his head too much against Kessler, but he didn't even need to. He would have won that fight anyway, with no dirty tactics.
So far i seen of Ward, the only fight he used dirty tactics in was with kesslar, and SOME of them were a little borderline.
Download and watch his fights from our videos section, you'll see what I mean.Comment

Andre Ward>>>>>Ricky Hatton.
Footwork>>>>>>>1-2 step.
They are two totally different fighters. Ricky Hatton's career was built on throw a punch and clinch. Ward actually has skills.Comment

Yeah, when i watch Ward fight, i try to imagine him fighting w/o any dirty tactics, and i still see him as a very skilled, tough boxer. He's pretty much a complete boxer..well rounded with good punching power, good jab, nice timing, great lateral movement, good head movement, very good inside work, good defense, stamina, focus and confidence.
He doesn't get intimidated or discouraged easily. But i would really like him to clean up his style a bit...no need for him to resort to any dirty tactics. Like i keep saying, if he can get past AA...he's got the tourney. Also, i would think if there was much clinching in his fight with Miranda, it was M that was doing the clinching, cuz Ward was boxing his ears off...I don't remember the fight that well, and i didn't record it.
Even if he did do most of the clinching, i don't blame him. After all, we're talking about the guy that broke AA's jaw! I'm sure Ward did everything legal to avoid THAT happening...lol.Comment

It's because Ward is a dirty fighter in his heart and soul. It wasn't out of frustration against Kessler it's just the way he fights. I hope the referee enforces the rules better in his next supersix fight against Taylor.
It's ridiculous when a poster in this thread says that the Kessler fight is the only one where Ward fought dirty. I haven't seen a fight where he didn't hold.Comment
