David Tua vs. James Toney - Possible?

    hey guys,

i was just watching some stuff on youtube about David Tua, and i was thinkin about this dream match up, how it would go, since Toney's never been KO'ed.

Looking at the status of both fighters now, that could be a very plausible fight, even if it's not as a competitive fight as it would be a couple of years ago.

What you guys think of the match up? and if interesting, is it possible?

If Toney wanted to die or end up like Meldrick Taylor? Sure.

i think the toney who beat holyfield would have decisioned tua like byrd did.

2009 toney? i think he might get hurt.

tua is past it but he still has power and is probably fresh due to the inactivity of several years a couple of times.

toney on the other hand is pretty close to shot now i would think.

Right now, today, Tua hands Toney his first KO loss.

This fight would be awesome. James Toney was once knocked down by Roy Jones Jr., and I believe it would happen again here. Toney would have to try every trick (and he knows a lot) to keep the fight competitive. It could take awhile for Tua to figure out Toney's defense and land some big blows, but I see Tua taking him out in the mid or late rounds.

On a related topic, I boxrec'd Tua today and noticed he's facing a TBA opponent rather than Bruce Seldon. Anyone know why? I'd rather see Tua against Oquendo, Boswell, Guinn, or another decent fringe/journeyman than Seldon...

David Tua will be back in title contention. On Toney, yeah i guess u right, i guess i dont wanna believe it, haha. he's been training better i've heard for his last fight, but it's too late anyway.. too bad. oh well, good dream match up. i wonder if Toney could've rocked Tua though or even put him down. Tua would catch him eventually.

I'd like to see this, especially if the Referee lets it go, and just lets Tua smash Toneys brains out, that'd be entertaining.

Toney's defensive specialities and Tua's style just would make for an awesome fights, along with the hard shots of both ppl.

That would be great u know, but of course Toney's out of the prime, Tua still has a shot but we'll have to see what comes out of his career.

SO.. bottomline: would've been a great fight.
