Let me put me 2 cents in here
I have friends actually box against him in the amateurs, and been following this kid since he was a teenager (me and him are the same age and from the same area). To tell you the truth, he is the most mentally tough fighters out there. This want effect him at all.
The only question, and this has always been his biggest problem, is his dedication to the sport and discipline. I mean for one, this kid is getting into this type of trouble in Austin. For those who don't know, that city is so laid back and about as easy to stay outta trouble as it gets. To have the type of issues he has clearly shows how undisciplined he is. The question that remains to be answered is will he take his career seriously and dedicate himself to the sport. He atleast owes it to his kids to do so.Comment

I think he'll be fghting soon after that. I can see him in another serious fight a year from now. Still delayed him 2 years by ****ing up.Comment

I'd say there's more of a possibility of Kirkland going back to jail then becoming a world champion. Sad.Comment

It might be a good idea for Hopkins to have some serious talks with Kirkland about turning his life around. At least give him some pointers.

It also sucks for Anne Wolfe. She was getting major props and recognition for her work as a trainer as Kirkland steamrolled his way up the rankings. I was hoping Kirkland winning a title would send more students of the game to learn under Wofe, as she seems to be a helluva coach and knows how to really get the most out of her fighters in brutal, oldschool fashion. Plus, she had an equally as tough, if not tougher, childhood than James.Comment
