    Manny was in his prime.
He just wasn't at his peak.
Fuck the KO losses when he was a kid.
The first Morales fight was Roach's reality check.
Pac has been on a roll ever since.
He literally got taught a boxing lesson, and learned well.
And for good measure, he wrecked Morales twice afterward.

If you mean prime as in young and healthy then yes he was.

If you mean prime as in at their best, then no.

If that's the case, then all of Pac's wins in the past year or so shouldn't matter too much because none of his opponents were in their prime either.

Prime in terms of age, maybe. Prime in terms of anything else, definitely not.

I don't think so, boojee. I think it was a learning experience he needed at the time. It was also his first fight at 130 -- not an easy task taking on Morales. We can throw the glove issue into the equation too, but it's a waste of time now. Pacquiao was out-boxed in a close fight, and the best thing about it is it forced him to become a better fighter. There's nothing wrong with losing, it can be a blessing in disguise. The true measure of a great fighter is how he learns from his mistakes.

He didn't possess nearly the amount of skill he does now. Samurai is right, I don't think he would of had the motivation to improve his boxing if it weren't for that loss. I wouldn't go as far as to say that loss doesn't count. Give Morales credit, he brought it to Pac and out boxed him. If it weren't for Pac's heart and speed it wouldn't have been as close as it was.

He was more one dimensional back then, in the rematch it was apparent he went more to the body and that's really what told the story in the later rounds, I had Morales up 4-1 after 5 I believe. It was in the 6th round I think when he really turned it up and put a ****ing whooping on Morales.
