There have always been chubby heavyweight fighters. Just go back in the careers of every heavyweight champ. They fight chubby dudes all the time.

well it might be laziness, love of fast food, lack of proper dedication, a crazy attempt for smaller (height wise) HWs to match the taller guys in weight so they cant be bullied around in a clinch, new HWs coming up and seeing fat guys in the top 10 and thinking they can do it that way too, all of the above, or something i'm missing altogether
