Time for Juan Diaz to change Trainer and Manager?

Do you think Juan Diaz should look for a new trainer? He's very young and has potential I just think he's been too comfortable lately and its hurtin his career. Thoughts??

Malignaggi was sharp tonight for much of the bout, especially early. But he was helped by some horrendous corner advice from Diaz's trainer Ronnie Shields, who saw a fight none of us watching were seeing. Shields was inconsistent, asking Diaz to do things he can't do (like out-jab Paulie), and changing his advice constantly on whether or not Juan should be doing what Juan does, which is bull-rushing and making a volume fight of it. from BADLEFTH00Kdotcom

Keep in mind while reading I know what weight he fought at against Paulie. This comment below is just my overall observation of Juan Diaz's performance in the past 18-24 months.

I think its time for Juan "Baby Bull" Diaz to get a new Trainer and probably train somewhere else. So he can refresh and develop better habits, IMO moving and training under someone else will DO THAT.

His current trainer is and was good to get hi mto this point but its obvious he hasn't reached a higher level in his boxing career. He hasnt really improved.

His fights against Frietas and Julio Diaz were great but ever since he lost to Nate Campbell he hasnt been the same. Except for his fight against Juan Manuel Marquez, which he did very well.

But if you compare his tenacity and boldness from his fights with Acelino and Julio VS Katsidis and PAulie, Juan Diaz seems to be a very different fighter.

Its time for him to move on with another trainer and different location in order for him to succeed.

Unlike other fighters, not all but a few, who progress and strengthen thier weaknesses, Juan Diaz apparently continues to be a 1 dimensional fighter.

Diaz needs to take some time off and rededicate himself. He's still young, and 8-12 months off would do him some good.

He needs to try and work on his body, that much is clear. He's not going to have success at 140, so he needs to stay at 135.

A trainer change would also do him some good. He needs to change everything up and start over.

Ronnie Shields is a pretty good trainer, maybe he had an off night but yeah, his advice in the corner was pretty strange, telling Diaz to take a round off when Diaz was pretty far behind on the cards and stuff and it does seem like Diaz has stagnated or something, he doesn't seem to be learning too much new stuff so maybe a change in trainers wouldn't be a bad idea.

Don't see too much wrong with his manager though.

i agree in part. I feel at this time Juan Diaz aint really ready for Paulie. As much as I hate Paulie's style. I still feel part of the lose was to do not preparing completely for this fight. Juan Diaz IMO hasnt added much to his arsenal. He needs new a trainer!!!!!!!!!!

What Juan needs to do is go back down in weight. 130-135.
