Amir Khan vs Timothy Bradley wanted by the promoters

Gary Shaw, promoter of WBO light-welterweight champion Timothy Bradley, claimed last night that promoter Frank Warren has been in touch with the governing body wanting to arrange a fight between Bradley and Amir Khan. Bradley, who holds a victory over Junior Witter, successfully defended the belt again last night against Lamont Peterson.

“The fight that I’m looking to do is an Amir Khan fight,” Shaw said at the post-fight press conference. “Right after tonight’s fight, I got a call from the head of the WBO (the sanctioning organization that recognizes Bradley). He told me that Frank Warren called him tonight and said he wanted to make a fight between Khan and Bradley.

“I had some preliminary discussions with Warren and Showtime a few months ago and I think it’s a fight that might be able to get done. I have no problem taking Timothy to England to fight Khan in front of 40,000 screaming Brits. I don’t think that’s a hard fight for Timothy. I’m surprised Warren wants that fight.

“Khan’s been stretched before and I’m more than happy to have Timothy stretch him again.”

Khan's trainer and mentor Freddie Roach has reportedly said he'd take the fight.

This would be a great fight!

I don't believe this for a second. Bradely and Khan should be feeding on what the rest of the division has to offer before coming together for a 140 'superfight'.

I think khan would be extremely sharp as he would be training and sparring alongside manny pacquiao, in order to get him rdy for mayweather. My heart says khan but my head says bradley.

potentially a great fight. maybe frank warren wants bradley because he doesn't hit so hard, but i think it would be an action packed fight because of both guys work rate. khan posseses the quicker hands no doubt, and is improving with every fight he has with freddie roach. bradley is coming off three great wins and is also improving. this is one of many fights that can be made in an increasingly talented division. maybe khan gets an exciting points victory.

Bring it on, they're the best at 140 so they should fight each other at some point, why not now? I have Bradley winning UD.

What's Khan doing here? Looks like he is ducking low to avoid a punch. A good defensive strategy I'd say.

Khan should not be in the ring with Bradley yet, he needs more to develop, I think he's ready for Devon Alexander, and that's a more winnable fight for him.
