I have painted many a house and interior of homes. I have also seen Kevin Johnson fight six or seven times. Watching him fight is similar to the walls I have watched dry. One thing I did not realize is that he only had 30 amateur fights. His is slick defensively, rolls is shoulders quite nicely and moves his head well. He isn't afraid to fight with his back against the ropes because he feels he can roll with the punches and make his opponent miss enough and escape without damage. But, he does not turn his countering into combos, into offensive. He does not lack in showmanship and marketing himself, but he lacks what we love to see in the heavyweight division: offense.

He settled in and appeared to be fine with going the distant and not winning rounds. If he had been able to clearly win three to four rounds, he would have improved his immediate future in terms of payday and respect. But he did nothing other than survive to strengthen that claim.

He has the raw materials to be a decent heavyweight who can make splashes in a division that is lacking someone to love. But I don't know that he has that "I am going to rip this dudes head off" mentality.
