I don't have all his fights to draw from, but I was just stunned at what he did to Arreola.

I have watched about half of those fights but I voted Arreola. He fought pretty much a perfect fight to nullify Arreola's style.

I've never seen Vitali waltz around the ring and throw/land that many punches a round before. He made lighter fighters look bad with their punch counts. And he made Chris fight totally different than he had before, I've seen a few of Chris' fights and it was like seeing a different guy in there. To me that's impressive.

His best performance was in the loss to Lewis without it, he'd be getting disrespected more than Calzaghe.

I think the Kirk Johnson performance was the best of those on the list. Vitali seemed to be able to punch harder at that time than now, he took him out in the second round.

Kirk was a highly respected top-ten heavyweight at the time. He had never been stopped, in fact as far as I know he had never even been down. Kirk was 32-1 with his only loss being a DQ.

Vitali used to take out his opponents in the early rounds: Hide in round 2, the previously undefeated Mahone in round 3, Norris KO round 1, Spinelli KO round 1, etc.

John Ruiz dropped him in the 8th or 9th round in their fight, and I believe that fight happened before the Vitali fight.

I actually agree with you though, Vitali overall looked his best against Kirk...although he looked pretty darn good against Danny too.

I think that 2 year period before he retired he was at his best, overall.
