Diaconu: I did not lose this fight

Bruised and swollen, Adrian Diaconu had little to say after his loss to Jean Pascal, other than he thought he had won the fight. Diaconu spat out his mouthpiece and ran across the ring with his arm raised as the fight ended, only to have the scorecards tell another story. American judges Richard Flaherty and Julie Lederman both saw Pascal winning the fight by scores of 118-110 and 117-111 while Claude Paquette of Montreal thought the same and ruled 117-111 for Pascal.

“My feeling is that in my soul, I did not lose this fight,” said Diaconu afterwards, still trying to piece together what happened. “My feeling is that I won about eight rounds, something like that. I won this fight, to me there’s something fishy, I really don’t want to talk about it. I’ve boxed for twenty years and this is my feeling.

No way did he win. He didn't really make an impact on Pascal all night. Pascal landed so many bombs on 'The Shark' he ended up actually looking like a Hammerhead.

        Pascal won the fight.

At the most you can give Diaconu 5 rounds to make it 7-5.

I thought the official scorecards were too wide, but Pascal clearly won. I scored it 115-113 for Pascal.

I just saw the fight there and I thought Diaconu was very poor. Pascal fought most of the fight with one arm and Diaconu had nothing to trouble him for the most part.

I scored 8 rounds for Pascal and 4 for Diaconu. No way did I see him winning and he did not deserve it. Big respect to Pascal for pulling through what looked like a dislocated shoulder. Tough man.

              Yeah I agree.

On a side note, I've always wanted someone that got knocked out to say
              "I didn't lose that fight"

Wait a minute Cintron did that already against Martinez * even though it was a draw.
