the hawk is one of the greatest fighters of all time!!! the man was not intimidated by anyone.... hearns and leonard didn't want anything to do with pryor.... cause they knew that they were in for a nasty grueling fight. pryor never stopped throwing punches..ever! he would be all over you, until he broke you down. he could take a shot, and would walk through them like they didn't even happen. the man has a record of 39-1-35 ko's......and his only lose was after a 3 year layoff that was some of the darkest years of his life, and if you have seen the fight, you could see that it was a elbow to the temple that hurt him, instead of a punch, and that if the ref didn't wave it off it could have continued....and who know's he night have gone on to win and been undefeated????? who know's, but he was a great fighter and a great champion, and you should be embarrassed of yourself to start a thread saying he's worthless.....how can you call yourself a boxing fan colonel jones, if you have no respect for a past great champion......

Prime Aaron vs prime ODH? Oscar would get KO'd. He's like a small version of Hagler but 10x faster.

Hearns never turned to crack, neither did Hagler, Pryor wasted his talent, simple as that. Of course he had talent, no one disputes that. But just like Paul Newman's character was told in the Hustler: jackie Gleason's character 'Minnestot Fats' had more character in his small finger than 'fast eddie' had in his whole body. Same can be said for Pryor, he had no character.
YOU have no charecter you judgemental prick.

Who are you to call someone with Pryor's achievements or ANYONE for that matter, worthless? What give's you the right?

Yeah, Pryor made some REALLY ****ty choices in his life & it cost him. So what? That's between himself, his loved ones & his God to work out & judging by his current life & his current state of happiness, it's worked out just fine.

Actually, choosing the rough path in life gives you character. Good choice or bad.

now, ray leonard was a legend of the ring and I have lots of respect for him.

however, he did duck pryor, and he did duck hagler.

Aaron Pryor was that. Alot of people think he could have beat both Leanord and Hearns (who he did as an amatuer) as a pro, but we will never know, because he was such a worthless piece of scum ****. I guess he'll just have to tell people how great he could have been. We can all do that. I hope all the CRACK you smoked Pryor was worth it.
I think its safe to say, that you are easily the biggest ****** on this site. I could not fathom anyone saying such a thing about a fighter....who does not owe you a god damn thing. Especially in the case of monitoring his own personal life for your benefit. News Flash ****face, some people have problems that extend outside of the ring. Especially in the case of Pryor, who had a drug addiction. It would be people like you that make up the conservative majority of "so called thinkers" who are so quick to judge a professional athlete by the choices they make outside of the ring. Look at a fighter like Mike Tyson. He should be criticised for his actions because they directly affected another person (being his **** of desiree washington). What in the hell did Pryor do to you?

Did you lose some money on him in a bet? Can you now not spare the twenty minutes it took you to type and think up that ******ed paragraph? do you love him so much as a fighter, that you would type something like this? I would like some answers to these questions, and I am pretty sure you wont be giving them.

Just another ******ed ****face, who types a ******ed paragraph....and runs off without defending it. Eat a **** *****. Bad karma for you for the rest of time.

Pryor was the greatest "finisher" I have seen in over 45 years of following boxing. He was like a shark tasting blood...his eyes actually changed like he was in the throes of a feeding frenzy.
You can't fault somebody for not handling ******* as well as somebody else did. That is the real danger of this ***** of a drug. The guy next to you may be able to do some and quit. While YOU are ready to do anything to get MORE. Pryor was cursed to never have enough. I know of what I speak....in the early 80s, I was in Coke's grips. It was a nightmare that I wouldn't wish on anyone. My advise: if you haven't tried it, DON'T! You really aren't missing anything except a bit of hell on earth.

Aaron now hangs out at a gym in Covington, Kentucky several days a week. It is just across the Ohio River from Cincinnati and one of my old stomping grounds.
Bless you Hawk! Stay the course.
