Well, you're entitled to your opinion. It's not a matter being smart or not. That's how I feel and for good reason. I could care less about the heat.Last edited by Alpha Male; 04-20-2005, 01:44 PM. -
Looks like they gave him such a bad beating they might have just set him free or maybe even made him a rich man.Comment

in reality we will never find out what really happened.....the detective could have been infuriated for the suspects act and started to beat on him and the guy got a hold of his gun and shot him......then after the cops must have beat him down and he jumped out of the window out of desperation or they threw him out to cover everything up..........or the guy could just be a criminal and killed the detective unprovoked.......we wont ever know what erally happened that day......but that kind of police brutality is just too muchComment

He was a suspect for stabbing an 84 year old woman. If he's guilty of that, then it wouldn't surprise me if he'd shoot a cop.Comment

no
Not really. There's no telling how much of that damamge to his face was done jumping through a window. If a dude kills a cop, in a PUBLIC SAFETY COMPLEX, then jumps through a window...well, obviously he would not go down easily and the cops might HAVE to do what they did.but that kind of police brutality is just too muchComment

Any copkiller is fair game in the eyes of other cops. I don't necessarily agree with this either, but you also have to look at it from their point of view. If there aren't serious ramifications for killing cops, more so than for taking out your average citizen, cops would be at even more risk of death on a day to day basis than they already are. Also consider this: These guys are, as someone mentioned above, family. I spent some time in law enforcement myself, and it was exactly that...extended family. And how would you, Alpha Male, treat someone that just shot and killed your brother? Would you just cuff'n'book the guy, or would you make sure he suffered some serious injuries in the process? Also think about this: If the guy had the 'nads to shoot and kill a police officer, what makes you think he didn't have the 'nads to resist arrest against multiple officers? I've seen guys do it many times...hell, I got tossed over the top of my cruiser once by a big guy on crank...it took 4 of us to get a handle on the guy and sardine his ass into the back of the car for transport. After that, if I had any resistance, I beat the offender down with my baton until he was curled into a fetal position and unwilling to resist further. I'm not wrestling with, or breaking my hands on, some ******* who's either too drunk or stoned to notice. As far as I'm concerned, they aren't worth risking myself just to save them from their own ******ity.
Anyway, in my opinion he got off lucky, unless he had a deathwish, in which case he was just unlucky. About 90% of the time, a copkiller gets a bullet, rather than a beating and a trial. I have to honestly say that, if I'd been the officer who cornered this guy and he was armed, he'd have been another cold piece of meat downstairs at county, because I don't give beatings, and I don't yell "Freeze and drop your weapon"...I was one of the guys who pulled the trigger, called the morgue and filed the paperwork.Comment
