To me these guys are the epitome of what boxing is all about. I have a hard time picking which guy is my favorite. I know I mainly rep for Dinamita but thats cuz' Rafa has been inactive lately.
But if I was forced to choose, I don't know if I could.
JMM is death by a thousand cuts, but Rafa while maybe not as technically skilled by a smidge as JMM, is a much more violent and destructive fighter.
Rafa goes out to hurt you from the start even to his own detriment sometimes, whereas JMM is more of a calm assassin where he is willing to figure you out perfectly before setting you up for the kill.
I've gone on record as saying that they are the best brother boxer tandem p4p in the history of the sport. Vitali and Wladdy coming a very close second.
They are the Mario and Luigi of boxing.
In my ideal situation, JMM and Rafa should do a "Final Fight" night card together where they both fight showcase fights to culminate 2 ATG, HOF careers.
After JMM beats Hatton (great final fight for him imo) and Rafa beats Izzy again, they should do a card together as their sunset ride into retirement.
I'll be at Staples in person, preferably in the first ten rows and I would definitely attend a JMM/Rafa headlined card.
The great thing about JMM making big bucks towards the end of his career is that he can take care of his brother if he ever needs to, considering how severely underpaid the smaller guys are.
Rafa will probably get 1 million bucks for Izzy 4, which is a ****ing travesty.
If anyone deserves a 10 million dollar pay day its Izzy and Rafa.
